Relevance of the program:
The innovative educational program "Precision farming" is aimed at training engineering and technical personnel who are ready to implement and apply precision farming technologies, successfully combining knowledge in the field of geodesy, cartography, information, satellite and GIS technologies, agronomy, economics of planning and management in order to effectively use the potential of agricultural land.
Graduates of the educational program will be able to combine in practice all the latest achievements that allow implementing an integrated approach of precision farming systems: a single WEB-system, monitoring of agricultural processes based on satellite images and UAV data, development of thematic maps using GIS, management of agricultural machinery based on GPS measurements, etc.

EP goal:
To create an educational environment favorable for the professional development and intellectual development of a specialist who is able to demonstrate functional literacy and competitiveness in a professional situation, who is able to conduct research successfully and development aimed at implementing the latest achievements in the field of satellite geodesy, remote sensing, cartography, geo-information systems to improve the efficiency of the agricultural system.
Graduate competence model
- To use positioning methods and systems in precision farming;
- To be able to monitor agricultural processes from satellite images and UAV data;
- To create thematic maps for agricultural production based on remote sensing data analysis;
- To apply systems of differentiated fertilization and irrigation of fields;
- To develop and create agricultural technology management systems to improve the efficiency of farming processes;
- To improve existing and implement best practices for crop yield assessment and planning;
- Knowledge of modern management and communication methods.
