The second week of the republican environmental action gathered more and more concerned residents of the East Kazakhstan oblast. It was initiated by the Minister of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources Magzum Mirzagaliev.
This Saturday, students and employees of the EKSTU, as well as the Akim of New Bukhtarma Zhanat Solmenbayeva supported the eco-challenge. Our little guests from Arys also showed the desire to join.
The bay of the Bukhtarma reservoir was the site for cleaning because some people managed to leave garbage even when relaxing in picturesque places.
According to the participants, plastic and glass bottles were the largest portion of the garbage, with plastic bags and food wrappers being on the second and third places, respectively.
Thanks to the environmental "raid", eight bags of garbage were collected.
The purpose of the event was to bring together people, who cared about the issues of environmental safety and had the desire to improve their environmental awareness. To clean the bay was not an end in itself, the main purpose was to show the consequences of the irresponsible attitude towards nature.
