EKTU is in sixth place in Kazakhstan in the international Webometrics ranking

D. Serikbayev EKTU took 6th place in the international Webometrics ranking among 125 universities in Kazakhstan, behind only the universities of Almaty and Nur-Sultan.

Webometrics analyzes the representation of each university on the Internet. The Webometrics Ranking allows you indirectly evaluate the research achievements of universities by comparing their websites. The results announced on January 28, 2021.

Webometrics allows you to assess the prestige of universities in the world and track their development. The rating published twice a year for 15 years. Periodically, the number of universities considered in it increases. Initially, only 19,000 universities were taken into account, today - more than 24,000. The rating is formed taking into account 3 criteria:

  • "Visibility" (the number of external sites linking to the university website)
  • "Excellence" (number of works, among the top 10% most cited)
  • "Openness" (citation in academic networks).

The ranking is published by Cybermetrics Lab, a research group of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) based in Madrid.
