The EKSTU is currently hosting a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant from the United States. Amanda Filardo is visiting Kazakhstan thanks to the Fulbright Program. The foreign specialist will be in Ust-Kamenogorsk until the end of November 2020.
Amanda Filardo's major is International Relations. At the EKSTU, she will be working at the Sub-Department of Foreign Languages and helping lecturers with preparing materials for classes in political and cultural studies at no cost. Amanda plans to learn Russian and introduce the EKSTU students to the American culture. Besides, the lecturer expressed the desire to get to know the national identity. In her free time, she will be hosting a speaking club. It is a wonderful opportunity for students to practice their speaking in English.
The American guest has an active lifestyle and likes winter sports and horse riding. There are many wonderful places in East Kazakhstan for these sports, so Amanda Filardo will not be bored.
