The Prime minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Askar Mamin visited the East Kazakhstan region including the East Kazakhstan State Technical University, EKSTU, on an official tour.
In the region, much attention is paid to innovative projects that are implemented jointly with industrial enterprises and medical organizations of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
EKSTU in cooperation with Ulba Metallurgy Plant made a new alloy of titanium, tantalum and niobium. This alloy can be used for the production of implants. On the experimental industrial site of the university there are new, modernized types of implants modeled on the research institute of traumatology and orthopedics of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During a visit to the laboratories of EKSTU, the head of the Research Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nurlan Batpenov, contacted the Prime Minister through a video conference. He spoke in detail about the results of joint activities with the university.
In addition, was presented superconducting wire for MRI for the Japanese company Furukawa LtD.

The head of government praised the material and technical base of the university. He pledged to continue to work in that direction.
