Participants of the first stage of the EKTU partnership project with the University of Delaware (USA) were awarded certificates

8 teachers of non-linguistic disciplines, 2 teachers of English and 5 doctoral students completed two consecutive courses on the development of speaking skills, pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar in the context of the academic text. Language training - Language Institute "English as a Medium for Scientific Instruction and Communication" lasted 4 months. Teachers who passed this course told that they managed to improve their pronunciation, master idioms and practice their English with native speakers.

The team of EKTU specialists was congratulated by partners from the Institute of English Language of the University of Delaware. The mentors became real friends in a few months. Intensive language learning took place in international groups allowing to exchange cultural values.

It is worth noting that there are still two stages of training ahead. "Summer camp", where scientists will study all the aspects of academic writing. In the third stage, participants - all interested teachers of the university will be able to immerse in the teaching methodology in English.

The cooperation grant between the University of Delaware (USA) and D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University (Kazakhstan) became one of the 5 winners of the competition among 35 applications and received funding from the US Embassy in Kazakhstan and the American Council on International Education. The project is implemented on the basis of the Center for Educational Technologies of EKTU headed by Anthony Hetrick and the English Language Institute of the University of Delaware. The University of Delaware is one of the oldest research universities in the United States among graduates is elected President - John Biden of the United States.
