Acting chairman of the board-rector of D. Serikbayev EKTU Zhasulan Shaimardanov had meeting with Director of Fire & Safety consultancy LTD (Great Britain) Philip David Levy.
Philip Levy runs a firefighting engineering consulting company based in England and the USA. Mr. Levy turned to the university administration with a proposal to create on the basis of EKTU a Competence Center for Geology and Mining, industrial safety laboratories. According to the head of the consulting company, the formation of new centers and laboratories will make it possible to provide research, consulting and educational services on industrial safety to enterprises of the East Kazakhstan region.
In addition, such cooperation will help the birth of new international educational programs that teach modern approaches in the field of industrial and fire safety in water and air space. The leading UK universities in the field of industrial safety will participate in the development of the EP. Cooperation involves the involvement of foreign experts in the field of fire safety to train teachers and students of EKTU.
Following the meeting, it was decided to consider the proposal of the foreign guest. In the near future, the administration of the university will study the documentation.
